We had a good second meeting of the year. The ride for March is to be the Ride for the Heroes in Aledo. See website Daylight saving time is Sunday March 8th. We will move the Bluebonnet Sunday ride time to 8:00 am from the Lowes parking lot on March 15th. Mark your calendars for starting or meeting up with the group along the route. The Saturday group ride will not change time till later. I will post when the change comes up. Saturday will continue to have an early ride meeting at 9:00 am with the regular to the coffee shop and back ride leaving from Downing Middle school at 11:00 am. Get your camping gear out and ready. We are planning a group camp trip with biking to Johnson Branch on the North side of Lake Ray Roberts in April. April 18 & 19 is when we are planning. Checking out the website for Johnson Branch the group camp site does not have water or showers, just toilets. So we will do the regular camp sites that hold 8 people per site. I will post some more information later. For now just mark the weekend. We have 8,636 miles for the team so far this year. Good job. Be proud, I have finally posted my miles. So everyone keep up the good job and I will too. There is interest in going to RAGBRAI, Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa. The ride is July 19-25, 2009 and is a southern route this year. If we want to do this ride we need to get on it and get registered. We would leave on Friday July 17th to drive up and return on July 26th. If we go as a group we have to sign up as a group and send our waivers in together. Payment and registration can be done on line. A group leader would need to be decided. Online registration to do the ride is by lottery and ends April 1, 2009. Then May 1, 2009 the lottery results will be posted. If we should choose to go and register and we do not get in the lottery there is a refund of your money. To check out information go to RAGBRAI.org.
